I propose… A London Olympics party!
The Committee appear to have gone for a rather 80s looking theme, so grab your leg-warmers, headbands and electric blue leotards.
The night of course kicks off with the ceremonial lighting of the Olympic Flame, or in this case Olympic barbecue, where a selection of grilled meats and crispy veg can be nibbled. The Olympics welcomes all nations and so I shall be in the kitchen creating a veritable delight of international dishes for the non-barbecuey people. By which I mean throwing stuff at a pan and hoping to all things holy it resembles something from somewhere.
As for the booze, well… vodka, tequila, good beer (USA send their apologies), delicious wines; all the best the world can offer!
For entertainment I’ve heard the Russian gymnastics team are easy drunks and can be persuaded to perform a striptease at the drop of an ushanka.
Outside in the garden is the designated Games area with delightful activities such as Beer Chug, Vodka Hockey, Fire Hula, Floor Show and laps of the hot-tub. Compete in all five for the modern pentathlon trophy. Any non-participants are free to take part in the Most Deluded Cheering Challenge (see Britain’s tennis crowd for tips on this).
There will also be a small corner of the house devoted to large sheets of paper, crayons and fingerpaints so we can all have a go at designing an Olympic logo better than the Committee’s stupid Wacaday effort.
I hope the evening doesn’t end with drunken renditions of whatever national anthems anyone can vaguely remember the melody to, but knowing you lot it’s probably going to swing that way.
Eeek, that logo's come in for a lot of stick today. I'm sure we'll be able to come up with something much better.
